Summer of 2010 Junior Program

The 2010 Summer program is taking on a new look. All 5 days will be at a golf course. The staff will have up to 4 PGA Professionals working with the juniors. Our other counselors are G.B.A. certified staff. The student to counselor ratio will be no greater than 5:1. Do your research when choosing a junior program! There is no program that has this quality of staff, program hours, and access to regulation golf courses.

Program Itinerary is as follows...

Program hours 9am - 3pm, Monday - Friday

Day 1 - Evaluation Day @ SkyView Golf Course

Students will be evaluated and grouped according to skill level and experience. Of course, if you have a request for groups, we will do our best to accommodate those request. We reserve the right to do what is best for the program.

Day 2 - 4 : Golf instruction on the course

These days we will be on the course. Our goal here is to get the students on a real golf course, excited about the game. We want the juniors to get inspired and develop a desire to play the "game of a lifetime." Our instructors/counselors are there to provide instruction, encouragement, course etiquette, sportsmanship, rules, and SAFETY. This is just a flavor of what will happen during the program.

Day 5 - "Kids Big Break!" @ SkyView Golf Course

The final day is to test what the juniors have learned in a fun "skills challenge." The categories are accurate shots, pitch shots, chip shots, putting, trouble shots, and of course...long drive! The day will conclude with awards, munchies and beverages.

Disclaimer: We, obviously, are not in control of the weather. In 12 years, we have only missed 1 day on the golf course(knock on wood!). If the day/s look threatening, we would visit the USGA Golf Museum.

Students are expected to have their own clubs/bag. I highly recommend a sand wedge for the program. After the putter, it is the most important club in the bag.

Lunch is not provided. Definitely have them pack a lunch and water bottle. Monday and Friday @ SkyView, the kids can purchase their lunch at the Grille Room.

Busing - There will be a bus pick up in the East Hanover/Roseland/Livingston area. The bus is an air conditioned tour bus. The drop off will be 8:15am. We need the bus to be moving by 8:30am.
Pick up will be at 3:30pm. For the juniors being dropped off at SkyView Golf Course, drop off is at 9:00am and pick up at 3:00pm. All juniors will be bused to the golf courses Tuesday-Thursday.
